Professional Experience
Leonora Gorelik practices law in Los Angeles, California. Her practices include Personal Bankruptcy, Small Business Law, Estate Planning, Family Law and Real Estate Law.
Ms. Gorelik began her career representing regular people in personal bankruptcy cases. As she represented and advised these individuals through the stressful and sometimes complicated bankruptcy process, Ms. Gorelik quickly gained the trust and respect of her clients. After completing her clients’ bankruptcy cases, many of Ms. Gorelik’s bankruptcy clients began to call on her to assist them (or their family members) with other legal matters, including estate planning, business formation, real estate transactions and family law. As such, Ms. Gorelik expanded her practice to respond to her client’s evolving legal needs.
Prior to opening her own office, Ms. Gorelik was an extern to the Honorable Samuel L. Bufford, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge in Downtown Los Angeles. She completed a fellowship in the Consumer Division at Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and subsequently worked at the Sharf Law Firm in Encino, where she practiced Bankruptcy Law.
Practice Philosophy:
Ms. Gorelik believes that access to top notch legal representation should not be limited to the super wealthy or giant corporations. She prefers to represent individuals who may be facing the most significant legal issue of their lives.
Ms. Gorelik’s goal is to provide the necessary attention, care, and competent representation to every client’s case, no matter the size:
- Calls and emails are answered within 24 business hours.
- All cases are handled by Ms. Gorelik from start to finish and are never passed off to a paralegal or secretary. Ms. Gorelik believes that if you hire and pay for an attorney, you should have the opportunity to consult your attorney, not his/her secretary or assistant.
- Ms. Gorelik handles a limited amount of cases at a time. This allows her to keep careful track of all cases and to know the nuances of every case handled.
Education: Ms. Gorelik graduated Loyola Law School in the top 10% of her class. She received an undergraduate degree in Management Science from University of California, San Diego.
Professional Memberships and Activities: Ms. Gorelik is a proud member of NACBA (National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys) and a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association. Additionally, she regularly volunteers her time at the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law and HALSA (HIV and Aids Legal Services Alliance). Ms. Gorelik has also taught courses on personal bankruptcy for LawReview CLE and LAFLA.
Personally: Leonora Gorelik has lived in Los Angeles since 1989, the year she emigrated from Belarus with her family. She speaks fluent Russian and regularly represents clients from the former Soviet Union. She loves animals and nature, so you can often find her hiking with her black lab, Annie, at Runyon Canyon.
